Aluminum

Finish: Typical Bright

Aerospace and commercial grades with purity as high as 99.45%.

Materials are processed by photo and chemical etching, laser and waterjet cutting, and precision stamping. These alloys highly formable and used in a wide range of applications:

  • Internal and external aircraft parts
  • Aerospace and space fight
  • Gaskets
  • Shims
  • Laminated shims
  • Manufactured parts
  • Medical
  • Marine and Entertainment industries

1100 Grade

Commercially pure aluminum, soft and malleable. Excellent workability and easily formed. Desirable for intricate forming because it work-hardens slower than other types of aluminum. High thermal and electrical conductivity.

2024 Grade

High strength, fatigue resistant, aerospace grade aluminum, this aluminum is alloyed with 4.3-4.5% Copper, 0.5-0.6% Manganese, and 1.3-1.5% Magnesium. High tensile strength coupled with low weight makes this alloy desirable for aircraft structural components. This grade is heat treatable and can be artificially aged and hardened.

3003 Grade

This is aluminum alloyed with 1.0-1.2% Manganese and less than 1% combined Copper and Iron. The addition of manganese adds approximately 20% more strength compared to 1100 grade. As with all grades of aluminum, 3003 has excellent corrosion resistance.

5052 Grade

This is aluminum alloyed with 2.2-2.8% Magnesium and less than 1% combined Chromium, Copper, and iron. Excellent strength and corrosion resistance in marine atmospheres and salt water. Excellent workability and easily formed. Easily finished anodic or chemical conversion coatings.

6061 Grade

This is aluminum alloyed with 0.8-1.2% Magnesium and less than 2% combined Silicon, Copper, Chromium, and Zinc. It is heat treatable alloy with strong corrosion resistance properties, easily formed with high workability, and can be artificially aged and heat treated for a wide range of mechanical
